I am an HRBlock loyalist, so I have not tried other choices. Only issue I had this time around is that it seemed to have gotten caught in a delay or loop in updating. So, it notified me of no issues as I proceeded to do my return until when I tried to execute the efile when it said that I needed to complete the update. I couldn't intuitively figure out how to fix this issue so saved and closed out the program. However, when I restarted, it completed the update and all went well.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Had a lot of trouble this year with the program doubling my entries. So if I had Joe Smith and Susan Smith as dependents, when I would go back to that page later, I would have two Joe Smith’s. My save feature was working correctly but it was doing this with numbers as well

Been using this for years successfully. My only issue is how to input "Other Income." It is too tricky. If you do it the logical way, the software informs me that because there is an "other income" entry, it cannot submit the return online, and I must send the IRA a paper copy instead. So I have to input the income in another category that isn't quite correct, but it gets the income into my total taxable income total and I get an accurate tax calculation. This is really annoying EVERY YEAR
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare

Using this program send to be more convoluted every year. And assumes the user knows more about tax law than this used does.
Would be great if the program published a list to order the input documents is the same order as the interview to save time in prep.
Also would be great to have the program pop up a note if the same account number is input more that one time.
