Overall quality of the product is going down

Have been using for more than a decade but noticed problems popping up for the last couple of years. This year has been the worst. Whether it is interview questions, validating data, electronic filing, or even customer support - problems all around!
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am a resident of the state of New York but had to file a Kansas state income tax return because of some income from a Trust located in Kansas. I received notification from the state of Kansas that they did not have record of the state income tax withheld. It seems that they require the K-18 form to be filed with the Kansas state tax return and your electronic filing did not include the K-18. Can you fix this so I can use your tax return software next year?

I couldn't do my taxes with out this software, but this year it seemed to lack the usual "fluidity".
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

I have used H&R Block Tax Software every year since the early 1990’s and have never had a problem with the software or found a tax issue I needed that wasn’t covered. I greatly enjoy the “interview” style of filling in my tax information where the software asks me questions that to me seem very well thought out and logical in their sequence. Bottom line, I would highly recommend this product to anyone. To me it is five star!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

First time user, so there are some growing pains. I plan to use it in the future. I could not resolve an issue regarding pension and annuity income. The software would only print out the taxable distribution on the 1040-SR but not print out the gross distribution. Both amounts were the same if that made a difference.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
