I have been using H&R Block software for doing my taxes for several years and continue to have a great experience with the product, thus the reason I keep using them. It is very easy to use and cost efficient as well.
They should import medical insurance premiums in the state return directly from the Federal instead of asking again for them. They should give the option of direct deposit of refunds into the banks for people who choose to mail their returns.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Something that could be made easier is the ability to view/print estimated tax payment vouchers. I had quite a bit of back and forth to find the vouchers and to print them.
Have used H&R Block (Taxcut) for many years. Consistently one of easiest to use, supports multiple methods for importing data from brokers, banks, previous years, etc. Supports many of the more arcane needs (like self-employed, farming, rentals, property sales, etc.) and has an excellent error checking and analysis engine (only one to recommend methods to report income and expenses that result in lesser taxes, allows for "what if" scenarios, etc.)
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
