Found the software easy to use. Wish there was better online support and easier ways to upload documents.

Terrible program for efiling state returns

It took three reworks of the State return and it still was not accepted, despite the software saying everything was correct and no errors. Waste of time.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

TaxCut makes an odious task as easy as possible. I used to use TurboTax, but this is just as good and quite a bit less expensive. Every year it automatically imports info from the previous year, so if the situation hasn't changed, it's as painless as possible.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I've been using H&R Block tax preparation software for years and I'm very satisfied with it.
However, this year I do have a major complaint. When I went to use the H&R Block online payment web site, they asked for a lot of important information that would be disastrous if it fell into the wrong hands. The link in the program didn't work, so I had to type in the url manually. I think it would be very easy for a bad actor to create a lookalike web site with a nearly identical url that acted the same; it would be very difficult for the average user to know the difference. There is no good reason for the payment website to be asking for this information - there are many ways to accomplish the same thing without this severe security hole.

The question about bit coin is tricky (easy to overlook). if you do not answer it, it messes everything up if you are submitting the forms online. HR Block never tells you what is wrong. You can have a panic attack until you figure it out for yourself! Other than that great software!

I've been using this tax software for a few years now since the other popular tax program had problems and dropped some forms. I have found H&R to be thorow and easy to use.It has a very nice flow to it and easy to go back on screens without always losing data or your place on it. very good program and I highly recommend it. You don't need to be a tax expert to use it. You do need you understand your tax situation and how taxes work to make to best of the software. Happy taxing!
