I've been using HRB for a while now. My only complaint right now, are the updates. The last update i did, was on Feb 13. on that day, block said there would be another update on the 20th. Like 2 years ago, when Block was having an update near the end of March, I took a chance, and sent it in. Knowing Block probably wasnt changing the common forms i used. Block says it will tell you which forms are final. I tried looking that up once, and it never showed which forms were final. Last minute form changes are probably for the rich and famous, with armies of accountants. My simple form probably had all the latest revision forms in January.

Our taxes are not very complicated, but we are on the border between standard and itemized deductions. Block software walks me through so I have the details to make informed choice.

Bought it early and then had to wait for over two months for updates before I could file. Using it was easy and only had problems with reporting my RMD where the instructions were confusing. At one point I believed I had to pay a penalty for not taking a RMD but I finally figured out how to report it properly.
