This is my 2nd year using H&R Block's software. I am very pleased with its functionality. It is relatively inexpensive and it is extremely easy to navigate. I have no problem with recommending this software to others.
The federal program worked well. This year I was a partial year resident in 2 states and I thought the integration with the federal data fell short. I had to manually track my investments by transaction date to manually calculate the partial year income for each state. Then when preparing to file a state return, the check list said to include a state form that the State package did not offer! What’s up with that? I had to download the form and fill it out manually determining where the inputs would be taken from. I’ve used H&R Block tax software for many years, but this year’s experience has me doubting whether I’ll use it next year.
Everything about the experience was perfect u til it came time to e-file. Every time I pressed submit, the program crashes. I couldn’t reach a software support phone agent that could help me at the deadline but it appears as though after 10 restarts and reboots, it may have worked. Fingers crossed
Never had an issue with the software. I've been using it for many years. It's nice how it automatically transfers info from last year's return to the present year. And transfers the info from fed to state returns.
