Easy to use software but convenience fee to pay by credit card is pricey. The software does not appear to trap issues on the fly, but does go back before submission to alert the filer. Not all issues are clear to correct using just the software. I have used it for years more out of habit than investigating competitors. I hope this helps
Pls be more transparent whenever the price of the SW doesn’t include eFiling state returns. Such as in the product feature summary. Or you may hide it in the details. As long as it’s easily accessible at time of purchase.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Complete frustration!!!! Unable to e-file on 15th deadline no matter what I tried! The BACK & NEXT disappeared & kept saying I needed to finish before filing!! After hours of FRUSTRATION, had to give up last night! Unable to e-file even though I had the DELUXE PROGRAM. Unable to satisfy program to e-file even though I tried numerous times to no avail!!! The stress was INTENSE! NEXT YEAR WILL HAVE TO BE DIFFERENT!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
First time users of H&R Block software. I have been using another companys software and had to transition to H&R. Little difficult for an older person but so are all that I have tried. I did not have any problems with the electronical filing process. This was smoother than I had experienced with the other companies. I will probably buy again next year.
It really needs quick links to specific areas and problems. In review, a conflict was tagged and after several searches for getting to the specific problem--why can't I hit a link and go to the issue--I finally hit the "Back" button numerous times to get to the general question section so the issue could be fixed.
For the vast majority of users, this product is very good, clear, and as concise as any tax-program can be. I would rate it as an outstanding product. However, If you are retired, receiving Required minimum distributions (RMD), and take advantage of Qualified charitable distributions (QCDs), the current product (and associated help and support) is subpar, awkward, and obscure. I struggled with it for hours before I stumbled upon the way to get the program to do what I needed. SUMMARY. If you are not getting QCDs, this is a very good product. If you are part of the small fraction of those who do get QCDs, just hope that H&R promptly improves their instructions and helps in this area.
