Not optimal for dealing with e-file after the taxpayer has passed away. The program told be I had to upload a copy of the document naming me as executor, but never gave me a chance to do that before I would have clicked "submit". So I had to submit by paper mail.

I’ve used this software for years for both my taxes and a couple of other family members. I love the import feature. The guided features are great in case you’re not sure about one option versus another, helping you make the best choice for max refunds.

Software did not have a section where it could do the calculation for a lump sum amount recived on social security.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

You need to dig deeper than you think.
If you are dealing with a mandatory required distribution and a qualified charitable donation, this program has little guidance. When I called the 800 number I found that the agents knew less than I did. It was suggested that I go to a Block office and ask them, but be prepared to pay for their services.
Shouldn't the program handle this common transaction?
Next year I will try Turbo Tax.

I purchased my first copy about 5 years ago to replace my accountant who was getting way too expensive. The product is easy to install and to use and comes at a fair price. . It also provides a reliable platform to keep copies of old returns. This can come in handy when I have a question about a particular item.

I have been using this program satisfactorily since 2017. This year the interview process had trouble handling my QCD's. It filled in a box with an error, which indicated I didn't take enough out of my IRA RMD. I had a long phone conversation with one of your agents, who agreed with me, but couldn't resolve the issue. I speculate the problem may have had something to do with Form 8606. Filled in properly and submitted.

Arithmetic error in program caused me to amend Federal return and resubmit. A late update corrected the mistake but I had already filed with IRS. The program did not properly calculate state and local income tax adjustment for the NIIT.
