The Federal return is usually not an issue. I have not been able to file the state for the last 3 years. Fortunately, I did not owe state taxes, You need to spend a lot more time on the integration of the state.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using the program for years HOWEVER this year I was NOT informed that I MUST use direct deposit to receive my refund. Since I requested a check I am having to jump through hoops in an attempt to get my money. There was a 2025 executive order requiring direct deposit with only a few exceptions and I would have expected the program to inform me of this not just warn me that it would take longer

The software is fairly intuitive and easy to use. I have a complex return and I was able to handle it with the prompts provided by the software. I wish there were a way to compare the previous year's return to the current year, side by side. If that feature is available, I could not find it.

Used them for at least 10 years. As a retired accountant I have too much going on to keep up with tax laws at this point in my life. Feel very confident using the H&R software.
