I THINK everything is fine, but I don't understand why I had to deal with these issues: Why can't it just understand what my local tax rate is? I would understand if I lived several places, but when I say I only lived and worked in one place, don't make me look up the local sales tax Why can't it understand that there is no state tax for certain states. I'm in Texas, and my W-2 does have a TX in line 15, so I put that in there. But it keeps freaking out that I didn't put anything else in. Ok fine, I paid 0 in taxes. Then it freaks out later I left the taxed amount out. Ok, 0? Then at the end it freaked out that I didn't have the employer's state ID...what? Jesus, they just had TX on 15. I took everything out and it stopped with the red marks. But...is my W-2 wrong now? It doesn't match what they actually printed? Just figure it out, TX (and other states) have no income tax! I got sent a 1095-C...I have NO idea what to do with it. It never came up, so in the end I kept trying to search for it. It said there was a 1095-A...which was part of 89somethingsomething...I have no idea, I couldn't find any of the info, couldn't match up the fields with what I had, couldn't find the exact amount in one field on any other field I had. But that form exists, I have it, you need to have it in your search. I'm going to assume it was covered elsewhere, but again, if someone searches for a form that obviously exists, tell them "don't worry, that's part of your W-2 or another form"
I submitted my federal taxes on 2/1/2021 with a confirmation email to confirm. The taxcut screen says I will receive a response from the IRS within 48 hours. That's 2 days. As of 2/7/2021 ( 5 days past the 48 hour window ) I am still waiting to hear from the IRS. I do not understand the delay and suspect the return was never presented to the IRS. That or something is mangled up in Tax Cut system from receiving a response from the IRS. I have been a faithful TaxCut fan for over 20 years. I've never had something like this happen and don't know what to do to correct. My confirmation email says don't respond to it as nobody's there. Now what?
It is just another example were corruption in the form of political donations has allowed the major tax prepares to get the federal govt to force the citizens to have to pay TAX CUT, ETC to file there taxes when tax software own by the govt should be doing this for FREE ! FREE !
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
One complaint only: It presented the option for printing my return BEFORE it informed me that I needed to update the software, thereby necessitating a second printing (which turned out to be identical to the first printing.) Otherwise it seemed clear and well documented.
My understanding was the Stimulus checks were not taxable. If they are not, why was it part of your tax forms.? When you asked for the checks and the amounts, it threw me off, I don't know where they went on the forms. At the end there was something wrong, I never did figure it out, but then it finally went. It may be rejected because I didn't change anything, because I didn't know what to change.
Been using this product for years and this year it navigated better than before! I did hit one glitch I got charged twice for my state processing fee (pa). Due to a message after I paid the first time I had to do an update (which I did before I did my input) and I had to pay again after the update! Other than that great program and much easier than years past
