I've been using HR block for several years. A friend recommended it. It's fairly simple to follow, and they ask the right questions so that any deductions or credits that you are entitled to won't be missed. And you don't need to be an accountant to use the program. On several different years I've gotten deductions that I didn't know were available that increased my refund. This year they even got me tax forgiveness for my state taxes.

I had no problem with my taxes. However, I have been using this program for years. I also do my son's taxes which are simple. However, this year I am having a hard time completing his taxes. The program says I'm using the wrong form but the program chose the form.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mostly good but same old glitches: when importing w-2s it grabs the information and then forgets it later in the program, demanding address info, social security numbers etc when you're trying to efile. EFile portion doesn't update wages and stops you etc.
Cons: Hard to import documents
