Had problems with the Federal software reporting nominee interest. Secondary screen wouldn't come up the first few tries. Kept saying there was an error filling out blocks on a form I wasn't using. CT state return was a nightmare. Usually I let the H&R software figure everything out, then transfer the information to the state website and save the 15 bucks filing through H&R. This year the social security worksheet forms were very different and came out with a $150 difference. The intuitive AI help wasn't so helpful. After going around in circles for a while, it basically said to go with the state website version of the form worksheet.

I did not know that for oil & gas royalties reported on a 1099-MISC had to be reported as part of a home business rather than just extra miscellaneous income. Enter it as just other income and the program would not permit the income to be entered from box 3, which is how it was reported to me. Other than that, the program is very easy to use and it made short work of filing my taxes. I will use it again next year.

To make life easier, 1. Import ur personal data from prior year. 2. Import all ur 1099B (if any) Do these 2 steps FIRST to save a lot of time. Then keep in mind the main Form 1040 topics so you can keep up with what the software is doing.

I've been using your tax software since 2005, even before it was called HRBlock, so I am a returning customer many times over. I'm still a little upset that I can't submit my state returns (Ohio) without paying extra $$. I think you need to work on that !!
I also think it's ridiculous to have to install extra software to handle the .PDF files .
my TAX returns are basically simple- we're married filing jointly, both retired, and only incomes are two pensions,and our two social securities, and two IRA withdrawals. A homeowner with no debts. Simple ! But I pay quite a premium for your software, and I can't even file a state return. WORK ON THAT !!!
