I've used HRB tax software for over 5 years without problems. This year (2020 version), I've had multiple problems generating 4 case numbers so far and am awaiting a callback from a supervisor on an escalated case. This is terrible! Last year, tax returns for my son and us were prepared by HRB and there were no problems. Upon efiling, this year, both 2020 returns were rejected by the IRS because they claim the AGIs didn't match from 2019 - but they did! Unacceptable!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Used it for years. You don't have to know anything about doing taxes. It walks you through to the areas & forms you need to fill out based on how you answer the questions. Every bit as good as Turbo Tax (tried it too) for a much better price. You won't be disappointed.

2020 tax program defects and need for improvement

Not including CD this year was quite a hassle, and needs to never occur again. Also the information that needed to be inputted on state taxes increased and was not transferred from federal tax forms, had to do calculations yourself.
