I've used H&R Block tax software since 2005. I've looked at other software and never saw a reason to change. It is always accurate, easy and consistent.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

This years edition didn't seem as intuitive as previous years. It contained at least one bug at the very end. It did not fill in my 2019 AGI from the previous form, and it was very difficult to figure out how to manually correct the entry from zero to the amount I wanted. The instructions were vague and the area that had to be highlighted was extremely small--the whole box should have been able to be highlighted.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Overall, the H&R Block tax software is quite easy to use. The software provides guidance to almost all federal entries I need to report. Very easy to input data and to submit filings to the IRS. I've been using H&R Block tax software for many years now and have experienced a high level of satisfaction with it. The software is somewhat weaker on state filings. It does not have the same level of research on state requirements.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Less expensive alternate and very intuitive. The question answer and search function is very helpful. Our taxes are somewhat more complicated with our investments, this program got us through it with ease!

Good tax filling software, but could not e-file; tried everything the software suggested but the answer was that the AGI didn't match despite inputting the correct value (I checked my tax forms from the previous year, and IRS trasncript and they both had the same AGI). Software directed me to mail my forms instead.
