I have used this for several years and really liked it, but had two problems this year. First, I had bought some bonds and paid accrued interest. The interest payments on the bonds were in 2021, so my interest payment offset exceeded my interest income. The software designated this as an error that had to be fixed. I had to reduce my payment amount to get rid of the error. Second, on my state return, I could not find a location to enter payments I made directly to the state treasury.
Good enough tax prep software for my situation. Disappointed with very slow delivery of back up disk that are no longer made available through retail channels.
I have used this softwear for years and have never had any issues. Its easy to follow. I think I trust it more because its from a tax firm. There was 1 hiccup this year with an update that drastically changed my return, but all tax softwear had this same issue. I'm just glad I didnt file too early.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
It was way more confusing this year than has been in the past, specifically with respect to the State portion, when asking how much I paid last year. I auto populated with the difference between what the state took in and what I had to pay out of pocket (giving me the latter number), but I wasn’t sure if that was really the correct value.
It also said my risk was slightly elevated (or something along those lines) for an audit, and it gave me a whole bunch of general reasons, only one of which was specific to me. If you are going to give this feature, it would really help if it’s specific to the individual.
There are a couple other issues I had, but these were my two main ones.
