This is a great program, I love it because once you start using it. Each year following as you continue to use it, it updates your info without hardly having to enter any info. The importing of financial documents is easy and the constant updates give a feeling of complete accuracy.

Software is generally easy to follow and to enter data in a systematic process. (grade A+) As a large part of our income is from investments, I did not find it easy to determine how different investments affected our tax rates. Also when trying to compare filing a joint return with filing separately, I found it tediuous to assign different incomes according to who it belonged to. (grade D-)

I had significant problems in trying to fill out the partnership income as the software did not match the IRS K1 form in that the boxes on the form were not labeled the same in the software. This led to much confusion. I could not find on-line help for this problem anywhere and there is no direct phone number for assistance. Otherwise, no issues with the software.

H&R Block software has been consistent through the years, and reliably updates information, while still allowing for changes. Instructions are as clear as can be while relating to IRS. Going back to review earlier entries is simple, and changes update calculations on the fly.
Nothing can make filling out tax forms enjoyable, but H&R Block does its best to keep it simple.
