It is my favorite tax software for past ten or so years. It is easy to install, upgrade, use, to import W2 from company payroll web sites, stock trading information from stock brokers etc. (an excellent feature added to this year's TaxCut). The only complaint I have is that it has a serious drawback. It says for the state of CA, if schedule-D (stock transactions) are more than 92 (or so), it cannot efile state tax. Such silly limitation should not even exist. I am sure lots of people have lot more than 92 stock transactions in a year and will run into this limitation.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
very unhappy, every year it gets less user friendly. first the 2019 disc would not work to open so i could download my file to 2020. and the worst no disc. it has to be downloaded for the price that is to difficult. also the requirements to efile are impossible, go back 5 years ago at least my 2016 worked plus the cost is out of site and limits on downloads. you are looking to out price yourself.
Your “calculation guarantee” doesn’t really measure up. I have been waiting for over 16 weeks for a response to my claim filed at the end of November 2020.
Great, could just use a little error check upgrade

I get HR block every year and based on seeing others use other software have no intention of switching. This year it was annoying warning about checking standardized deductions when that has become far more common. The error check function as a whole is pretty good, but wish it would take you directly to section with issue ratther than a looking glass view zoomed in on potential issue. They probably do that to keep you near the end, but could also just give you a back to error check button when error check sends you there.
