The cost of e-filing my state return was excessive. This cost should have been included when I purchased the product, or at least, identified on the front end.

Works welll, got return done quickly. Wish some of the explanations were directed more toward a layman than an accountant understanding.

great software - used for several years

I have had this software for several years. It is so convenient in that you can file online. I did have a problem this year with last years AGI that was automatically imported from my 2020 amended 1040-x form. I followed instructions and changed the AGI amount to what was on my 1040 form. My filing was rejected for "prior year AGI does not match IRS records". I changed the AGI amount back and my filing was accepted. What's up with that?

AGI is required for e-filing. H&R states that it knows the number because of last year's filing and has provided it. Not true. Must be provided manually by over-riding the field.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Simple way to do taxes!

I have used H&R Block Tax Cut software for many, many years. I do my taxes and my kid's taxes, and it doesn't cost me anything extra, as a total of 5 electronic filings are included. I have tried both Intuit's TurboTax and one called Tax Act. I didn't like either of them. This software is affordable, efficient, and it does a great job. You also get audit alerts if your taxes contain things that will flag an audit. If you need someone to help you through an audit, its included! I have nothing to say that is bad about this software.
