Two years ago I used H&R block software and my return needed a federal form 8606 for an inherited IRA distribution. Blocks software said to print the form, fill it out and mail my tax returns. this year I check the website and it said the software supported form 8606. I get to the inherited IRA distribution, same result - mail the tax returns. this is not supporting the form!
I could not file electronically this year because of having an amended filing from the previous year. H&R had good instructions on how to fix the filing problem (rejection from the Federal IRS) but it did not work. I had to file by mailing my current return.
had to run fed 3 times. first time deleted when windows did upgrade and wiped out info, second run did not allow certain deductions and info, third time the charm
Very intuitive and easy to use. As with most such products if you have used it in previous years, it is very easy and fast to get thru the enire proces.
I've been using this product for years and I've always found some topics to be just a little confusing. But I've blown it off as "of little consequence", until now. This tax year, for the first time, I made substantial Qualified Charitable Distributions directly from my IRA, to reduce my RMD, using a check book I had my fiduciary institution send me. But I don't think your software covers this topic sufficiently to avoid a potential audit. And I guess only time will tell.
