I would have given a much better rating except for two things. 1) Had to wait for two updates before I could file because of Soc.Sec. I don't know why -- nothing was different after the updates. 2) There was no mention or warning of extra fees (2.49 percent) if you choose to pay what you owe on line. Too late now! Okay. I get it. It's only 2.49 percent, but it sure would have been nice to have known that before I signed myself up for it simply by selecting to pay online. The rest of my experience was very good. I would recommend this to a friend, but I would inform them of the fees they'll have to pay if they choose to pay online.
The data entry and filing process seem to work well. Printing from the program ok. But saving and printing to PDF not working! The software on media very good idea. Haven't confirmed yet.
All good except for reconciling Qualified Charitable Deductions, need easier/better way to get to the form to cancel them from income. Some confusion in the dividend and interest income areas
I've used for 10 years now. I can't believe that for 2021 I cannot download 1099 and Cap Gain data from Charles Schwab. I spent alot of time inquiring. Almost every other financial firm but no Schwab. Could to Turbo and TaxAct. I doubt this will be printed
I've used this tax software for years and don't recall any issues. I would have given it a 5-star rating this year, except that it charged the fee to file my state return as soon as it was submitted instead of when the state accepted it, contrary to the stated policy.
Been using H&R software for a lot of years and will very likely continue to use it but it has several quirks that they just won't address. The biggest is using an itemized list with any field. Whenever you need to go back and review or edit an itemized list, right clicking to bring the list up opens a dialog showing all the itemized lists and you have to figure out which one is the correct one. They are listed by form number and line number. And, if you have multiples of any given form, it doesn't tell you which copy a list is for. These values are not shown when you are going through the interview method to complete your return. This should be an easy fix. When you wish to open an itemized list for a specific field, it should just open that specific itemized list. You shouldn't have to spend time figuring out which is the correct one.
I have used H&R Block software for many years and have always been fully satisfied with the product. I recommend this product to all my family and friends.
