Buggy software

I used the Deluxe 2021 Fed + State and found it to contain many annoying bugs which I had to report to get them fixed.
One of the worst bugs was filling out the 1099-B capital gains entries. I had over 300 transactions to enter and once it exceeded this number I started to get program crashes every time I inputed another capital gain transaction. The program just terminates. Also the program is poorly designed for large numbers of capital gain entries because it cycles through each transaction after a new entry is entered. Because of this the program is very slow! A better design would be to not cycle through each entry until you have finished with all entries.

The program worked as expected. I've used the product for many years and like it. I was disappointed by several crashes along the way, however.

We have been using HR Block Deluxe Software for over 10 years. Easy to follow with helpful info to find even more deductions. See you next tax season!

With all the tax law changes, the software was able to walk me through what I needed to file.

Could use improvements

Data input screens are numerous pages long and not easy to verify all the data has been input. Data input screens should look just like the source documents.
When getting ready to efile, my return was blocked and marked for mail in only. The reason was a form that was filled out but not used in the final return. Forms that are not necessary should not block efile!
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Product is easy to use and the guidance and support available to its users is awesome. Makes it easier for those of us that are not as experienced as others with software and the most important task of "Taxes".

Good features and navigation

Most aspects of the software are quite nimble, but would recommend incorporating front end easy data entry form for IRS Form 8938 as well.
Cons: Time consuming
