Either taxes have gotten more complicated or the software has become less polished over the years. I feel like questions about Crypto investments, Nanny tax, and particularly, those blasted K-1 forms have left me in a stupor in recent years. In regard to the k1, The form couldn’t be more clear, why can’t you just copy all the data from the from into HR Block and let it do the work instead of doing some kind of partial fraction decomposition to figure out answers to HR questions only to have HR say, good luck, we don’t cover this form type!?
Nice they are cheaper than the other guys, but I’m tempted to switch.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Could not download the state versions of the software. I purchased the deluxe version
that included one state download and a different state download from the website. I could not get either to download. I had to call tech support twice to get them to send a link for the software to load.

Not as good as past years
Switching from one account to another was challenging and at times panicking experience when it appears that the file almost completed disappeared. It turned out that it didn’t store with the same file name I created but defaulted to hrblock file.
A major issue was with the state filing. The submission to IL 1040 to IDOR must not have transmitted accurately that we received a notice of an unreported income. When I checked our saved file that income was clearly there.

The IRS rejects my efile stating my previous year’s AGI doesn’t match their records. The AGI does match but I have no recourse to resolve the issue.
