Software is easy to use but I experienced numerous errors that had to be corrected later. The software was not able to fix them at the time of filling the tax forms.

Very good software for simple to middle moderate complicated taxes. I wish HR would provide some alternatives as you move through the sections. Like if you are even eligible for a 401K and how much does it save you, or if your state taxes retirement income or not, or if you and your spouse are residents of different states and how that affects your taxes, and just the little quirks that we as laymen don't know to save us on taxes. I run a competitors software with HR and usually file with HR every year.

Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund

I am very pleased with my HR Block software. I have found many tax advantages that I might have missed if I was doing my taxes on my own. Saving time with accuracy is another plus.

Easy to use and less expensive than competition

Easy to use interview format for the most part. In some cases software simply says to read IRS instructions and fill out worksheets, which is not particularly helpful. I have used the other leading tax software a few years ago, but switched back, because H&R is usually less expensive.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Time consuming
