Ok software but room for improvement. Not super user friendly for people new to doing their own taxes. TurboTax walks you through with more handholding for the inexperienced. That being said this is much cheaper so you pay a lot for that extra TT handholding. This did my taxes no problem but I am experienced at doing my own taxes.
I have used H&R Block software for years, even back when it was called TaxCut, and have always found it simple to understand, and quite straightforward to use. Compared it one year to TurboTax...won't do that again.
We have been preparing our taxes for many years using H&R Block. The software is easy to use and reasonably priced. Our returns are rarely very complicated, this program has prompts that make the process very simple.
Over ten years experience using H&R Block Deluxe + State. The software is easy to install and follow. Its very thorough, covering all my situations. Been coming back year after year and recommending it to family and friends.
I attempted to use the online version and quickly fled back to the standalone version installed on my machine. The standalone version is clearer, more stable, and just feels more secure. Like all software it has quirks to learn but the product works.
I liked the software in several ways. Establish the order of data entry. Assist in avoiding errors. Running computation as I progressed. The final check to show that the return was accurate and ready to submit. Much quicker refund.
