Been using this program for decades. So much better than an accountant. The interview process discerns the entries needed, relevant to you, while making sure you don't miss deductions and credits. Also keeps you from wasting time assembling records, such as medical, by letting you know the amount needed to affect your taxes. You can mark ballpark entries tentative to see it's impact before wasting time.
I miss the video overviews. The Help menu links are not always indexed to the specific section you are working on. The Traditional / Roth IRA contributions should suggest what is allowable based on your data, but requires you to plug numbers to see what's allowable through trial and error. Suggest a read-only review process so your entries can be reviewed without any chance of accidental changes. Electronic state filing fees are excessive.

H&B didn’t support my brokerage account. I had several thousand dollars in refund due to me. I couldn’t wait till end of March for their software update. I filed and after 3 months I still don’t have my refund.

With taxes being a little confusing, H&R Block helps to explain what you need to submit. It also keeps up with the new tax laws and explains them and whether they affect you or not. They make tax time a lot easier and the nicest part is that they carry over a lot of the material from one year to another making it easier yet. If something is not submitted or entered correctly, they advise you before you submit your return to correct or add the entry. We pick up the software which includes the State return. They know all the tax information needed to submit both your State and Federal return accurately. It's a must at tax time and saves money and time.

I have used B&R Block tax software for 20+ years. It makes calculating and paying taxes less painful, and has on occasion pointed out deductions I missed, saving me money. Sometimes it comes across issues it can't handle well, such as schedule B and schedule K1 information. I would gladly pay more for a super deluxe version that could properly deal with these non-routine tax issues.
