It’s an excellent product that, for the most part, is user friendly. There was, however, one area where CPA terms were used to define CPA terms and I had a terrible time figuring it out.
I've been waiting almost 4 months now to get my refund from Oregon Dept. of Revenue! My 2021 was a simple return, & I used H&R Block to file electronically in hopes of receiving a prompt refund! OR Dept. of Revenue sent me a letter stating that they needed to see my W-2's/1099's. I only have 1099's...if they were going to need those items, why didn't H&R Block ask me to attach them to the return while I was preparing it! What a waste of money to use H&R Block software, plus spending extra money to have the return e-filed! Next year I'll just do a paper return & use the snail mail system...I also changed my Oregon withholding so that I won't need to wait for a refund for 2022!
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
i had a very difficult time with this. Granted, I am 71 and have little patience with computer that the developer should have worked out, but this program presented more problems than working the taxes out on paper, so that's what I did. Oh, and I had made a $1000 error on my taxes last year (using a different tax program) and I suspect, in trying to submit my taxes on line using H&R Block's program it tipped off the IRS to my error. They notified me immediately of the error. I can afford the back tax and hadn't intended to trim my liability, but if you fear auditing you might want to consider this.
