Although it worked well in 2020, last year I could not download financial data from Charles Schwab or TIAA. That made it tedious to use the software. Apparently TurboTax DID allow the download. Otherwise, the program is pretty simple to use and helpful. Please fix the download issue...or I will not be back.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

H&R Block guides you through the process by asking easily undertood questions, the answers to which give you simple data entry pages to enter your tax infornation. You almost don't have to know anything about taxes, just do what it tells you and a couple of hours later it fills out your tax forms and files them for you. Easy as could be.

I've used the H&R Block tax software for about 20 years. It provides simple method for filing somewhat complex returns. I don't understand why people feel the need to use expensive accountants for tax returns that the Block software can handle with ease.
