Everything worked well until the final few steps. When I got to the filing portion, your software did not provide any option for filing status (when I filed last year, a screen came up asking how I filed; single, married filing jointly, head of household, etc.). When I entered our AGI, it was rejected because it said what I entered did not my spouses AGI, yet there was no option to choose showing married filing jointly. Your help desk folks said it was an IRS problem, but your software did not allow me to choose. I had to print & mail.

While tax prep has become much easier these days, this software interview provides good insurance that I'm not overlooking anything, and allows me to try different scenarios easily, for a reasonable cost.

The Maryland state tax software did not work. It would not pull the correct data from the federal return and would not allow overrides. I had to file a paper return instead. As a result, after four months I still have not received my $10,000+ tax refund due to me.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The H&R Block tax software is easy to use with step-by-step guidance and help available to guide you through the tax filing process. I use it to do my taxes every year, along with the taxes if my daughters and granddaughters.

I find it easy to use and very complete. Importing/uploading tax documents is simple, efficient and accurate. Has E-filing (federal free) or print/mail filing processes that are fast. It is also one the appropriately priced tax software packages out there that offers the items I need to complete my taxes. Less than half of the version I was using previously. I have only used the deluxe version but I am extremely pleased and would recommend it highly.
