I have used H&R Block Deluxe for several years now. It has worked well to this point as my returns were fairly simple. This year, my return was a bit more complicated and the software couldn't handle it. It would not transpose figures correctly onto additional required forms. For this reason, when attempting to file my return electronically, it kept getting rejected. I had to resort to mailing in a paper return. The result: 4 months and still waiting for my tax refund.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Much cheaper than TurboTax or an accountant but since my return is complex, I don’t know if I saved or lost money by using H&R. I did not find it to be very clear.

I have been using H&R Block tax software for over 20 years. It has simplified the tax process so it taxes an hour or two instead of days. The IRS has always excepted the forms with out any questions. Once you start using it you will not want to use anything else.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
