I've been using H&R Block tax preparation software (TaxCut before they changed the name) for at least 20 years. I have found it reliable, easy to use, and I have never been audited while using it. My only criticism is that sometimes it seems that they are slow in getting updates out after the initial release. I have a brother who uses a competitive company's product and his updates are sometimes a week to 10 days for H&R's. Other than that I'm very satisfied with H&R Block's software.

I use the HRBlock Deluxe State and Federal Tax Software. I like how it lets you install the Federal software on more than one computer, but do not like that the state software can only be installed on the computer from which it was a download-installation. I also don't like that I can't get the state software install on local media in case I need it again in the future. The reason for me wanting to install both state and federal software on more than one computer is I do some work on a laptop and the final work on our desktop which has the printer on which we print out our copies of the tax returns.
The HRBlock Consumer help line used to be very helpful say 5 or 10 years ago. In recent years for me it has been totally worthless and a complete disappointment. I'd rate that aspect of the software a "1" for the lowest rating.

I've used H&R Block for 3 years now and it's always been accurate and reliable. The step by step guidance is easy to use and the interface is clear and easy to follow. I've used other more expensive tax return software in the past but provided no better accuracy or quality than H&R Block.

This software makes figuring your taxes practically automatic and filing them easy. I've used it since it was called TaxCut, and see no reason to switch. The fact that it automatically loads in data from last year to get you started is a real tmesaver.
