I switched from Turbotax when they eliminated features in the Deluxe version in order to force upgrades.
HR Block software did the job for me. I do 3 to 4 returns each year and am totally satisfied.

Terrible timeline with importing tax info from Schwab, barely made the tax deadline of 04/18/2022. Allowed online tax software importation from Schwab a week before actual purchasers of the Deluxe 2021 could import Schwab data.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

Had some trouble navigating at first, direction required me to go back multiple times to make sure i entered data correctly. Once I became familiar able to complete correctly.

I've used H&R Block software for years. It's always worked well for me, but the latest version died on me numerous times, usually at the same point (well, 3 or 4 points) when I clicked on a button. I learned how to get around these points, but it was very frustrating and worrisome. After restarting, I'd work back to where it died, and fortunately, I lost very little data.

I had to file an amended return. The software asked when the IRS should pull the taxes. The IRS never pulled the tax but did charge me the taxes due and a penalty for late payment. Always pay your taxes directly to the IRS never have it pulled.
