The H&R Block tax software is a solid, easy-to-use product. It walks you through the tax return, does I rated it four rather than five stars because there were some areas I wasn't sure of and it took some reading to determine what to enter, but that is likely the fault of the tax code complexity more than H&R Block. Also, I would prefer if the cost to e-file for state tax was included in the purchase price instead of being added on when you file.
I've also used TurboTax, and prefer the H&R Block software as somewhat easier to use.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I've been using the software for a few years and love the ease of use and the confirmation at the end that the software checked everything and verified it all. I did have an issue the year that I reported NY state and city taxes but I didn't check a box for NYC taxed. It was all verified and filed but I got an email from NYS 3 weeks after filing that I didn't check the NYC box and I had to submit a bunch of docs to the state about NYC residence. The state then adjusted my refund but that should have been avoided.

When I did my South Carolina state tax by hand it calculated much differently than the H&R Block software. I used the hand calculation since it was more beneficial.
