The software is easy enough to use, but the last two years it has not accurately reflected the tax code for me, and the IRS later adjusted the return for me to the negative. I would rather not expect to get a refund but end up owing the IRS again.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Showed me that I would be getting a larger refund because I did not receive the third stimulus payout. I received a letter from the IRS stating that my taxes were incorrectly filed. I received a smaller refund because the letter stated that due to "incorrect information" I did not qualify for the stimulus payout. I answered all of the questions correctly and the software said I would.

I have never been fully satisfied with any tax prep software. However, I have used H&R Block's for a number of years. They do not get 5 stars due to the lack of flow from form to form. Interview questions can be vague. All the information related to topics and questions are scrolled instead of paged. And finally, jumping between sections is confusing and not always accurate.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

Bad AGI from Block software caused IRS to reject

This year the software would not work to submit my return electronically because it could not match my AGI from my last year's return. Block software said it as zero! I tried to change it to the correct amount and either way, the IRS rejected my return after multiple attempts. I started the return over from scratch with the same result. It has worked correctly every year for at least 10 years. I had to mail in a paper return. I mailed it in March and still no refund in June!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
