I have used this version of H&R Block tax preparation software for many years. I started out with 'Turbotax", but switched to Block's software after the first couple of years. The availability of Oklahoma's tax preparation in one offer was highly desirable. Also, I find Block's software easier and typically less expensive. I have degrees in math and accounting, so I have expertise in tax preparation. Using the software is far easier in tackling the myriad of highly complex rules in both federal and state tax law is overwhelming without software assistance. I have a farm business, investments, and my wife and I are well into our 80s. I have never been audited or have ever had to correct any errors in my tax returns prepared with H&R Block software. I did have some trouble with my 2021 tax preparation in deleting an entry in my investment income. Although I deleted the entire investment for re-entry, the Block software left the old entry dollar amount in place. I had trouble getting error corrected, but found a way to handle the issue.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

So easy to use. It makes me feel that I got the best tax filing option available, even if I had to pay in. In the past it also let me know to wait for an upcoming update for possibly a better tax filing result. So glad I did. It saved me a lot of money by waiting!

Erroneous Software causes problems with return.

Very confusing to use.
I have used turbo tax and tac cut in years past without issue
Yet with this software I called a friend who does taxes professionsionally to help get me last why I owed 21000 to the feds.
The software screwed up the information from my out of state remote work job and would not let me complete the taxes.
Once completed with help from a friend,
The taxes were calculated and submitted.
The IRS sent a letter informing me that an error on my 1040 caused me to get 1/2 of my taxes back instead of the full amount.
The software ran it's error check and did not see this error. An error it had inserted.
Do not buy this software. They do not know what they are doing and they will cost you money.

Versions of H&R Block Deluxe Software prior to 2021 were great. Much to my dismay, the 2021 version had several errors which made it more difficult to work around. Software quality took a dive for the 2021 version.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have been using H&R Block tax software since 1996. I have never had any problems, never been audited, and the software is easy to use. The ability to file electronically is very convenient and trouble free. I wouldn't use anything else!

The software does a good job of walking you through most of the general individual 1040 process. Also state returns. Some explanations are sometimes to general and leaves a uncertain direction to be taken, that may cause a need to contact a specialist. Audit process is very good
