The program is good for simple taxes but not for a person retired and getting social security benefits. I had to pay back taxes because the program didn't have the forms to complete plus the directions were vague. The only way a person can get help is through paying an additional fee.

2011 software issue -- was unable to file electron

2021 Deluxe Edition tax software would NOT allow me to file my returns electronically. An error occurred each time I tried and I had to file & mail my paper returns. One of the main reasons I by the software is for the electronic filing. Other than this key issue, the software worked calculating my taxes with an issue. Until this issue is fixed, I will not be buying HR Tax software in the future. I have been using this tax software for over 12 years without a glitch.

Cons: Hard to prepare

I couldn’t get my return to print properly. I was able to do a work around and get it to print but after many years of using Block software I will be switching to Turbo Tax next year. Also the wait for customer service was excessive.
