In the past I always received the compact discs. Was very, very pleased with the experience. The guidance was excellent.
This year I did not receive the disc. When I logged onto HRBlock only obvious option was to start the online product. THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE DISC/DOWNLOADABLE SOFTWARE!!! I called customer suppport who very knowledgeably and graciously guided me to the download product. This DID provide the same experience, forms, and guidance I had received in the past. THE DOWNLOADABLE product (and you can pay extra for the CD) is the product I would recommend to others, not the online app.

This version of H&R Block supports taxpayers who receive K-1 data that must be reported. This year, Form 7203 was required for the first time for taxpayers who received a non-dividend distribution on reported on their K-1. H&R Block did not include prompts in the interview screen that addressed this, incorrectly marked that it was not required, and did not even have the form available within the program so that it could be manually filled out and added to the return. If it was not for my somewhat higher level of tax understanding, I would have missed this.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
