Ease-of-use is wonderful and importing the past year’s return is as easy as a snap. However, upon completion of my taxes this year, having done everything I knew to do I was expecting a refund of approximately $2000, the IRS, however, sent a letter that said they had to correct my return and I owed over $400. That was bad news.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don’t make changes that override interview flow

Software is prone to errors if you make changes to entries earlier during the interview process. Best to restart a new return if changes are needed. Otherwise, you can’t trust the calculations. I was fortunate to catch these mistakes before I filed.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

I have been using H&R Block software for many years and it has always been easy to use. My only negative was my difficulty in downloading the software for 2021 tax return. Not certain what the problem was, but I had to reset my computer to an earlier date as the website refused to allow me to attempt the download again.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

We've been using H&R Block tax software for many years. Usually use the basic version but we now live in a state with a state income tax. The Deluxe version at both levels was straight forward to use. We'll use it again next year.

Doesn't contain a form needed for AZ tax credits. Have to download from state website and add. This prohibits electronic filing.
Doesn't separate out how your tax bill is calculated. Would be handy to see how much I might save if I got more long term capital gains. But, there is no way to figure out what portion of my tax bill is from this source.
Would like it if they just followed the 1040 form line by line. Jump around too much.
