I have been using H&R Block Deluxe software for more than 12 years and find it more than meets my needs during tax filing season. The program has remained competively priced and quite easy to install. I plan to continue to use this program as long as it continues to meet all my needs and certainly feel quite comfortable recommending others consider it when looking for reliable tax software.
I find it frustrating that the Arizona state software does not include the 348 form. I have to download it from the AZ DOR website and fill it out off-line. I then can not file it electronically. Until this problem is corrected I cannot recommend the software.
I like the orderly, step-by-step guide, and the ability to "go deeper" with the pop-up "more information" boxes. It never forgets to ask about things I might not have thought would apply. This is my 10th year of using the software and I will continue. Best of all, I know I have backup with an agent at the local office if I really need it.
Doesn't handle (import) investments for even low-level investors. Doesn't do as promised, therefore. Essentially zero technical support via phone, web and social media: they assume ALL requests are for financial guidance.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
