Hard to figure out state software.

This version for 2025 does not handle state returns well. I cannot find where the state return is saved and can't tell when the state return is finished and if the software is filing Federal or State.
Also, when you go back to review when finishing it seems you have to go through the whole rest of the return to get to the finish even if you do not change anything.

It wasn't as easy to use as Turbo tax. The software couldn't upload to my bank. Chase, one of the biggest banks, was not an option to import my data. I had to do it manually.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

not great for amending returns

bought to file amended return. Not very robust and incredibly confusing. Ended up bailing on software and doing it manually.

Frustrated

I like using H&R Blocks software, but I had a few issues this year. First, I had entered my estimated local tax payments as state payments, which the state tax authority notified me about. After correcting that, I was flagged that I could not use payments made in 2026 for taxes from 2025, but the software states otherwise. Then, I downloaded stock 1099's, but the software would not allow me to review the downloaded data and skipped over it later and even flagged me latere but wouldn't allow me to review the data.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!
