Navigation within the software is difficult, data flow is opaque, error-checking is erratic, and the IRS demanded more info and delayed our refund for months because of software errors.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The program worked great, except for ONE potentially expensive glitch. When I did an automatic import of a 1099-R, the box showing that the disbursement came from a Roth IRA was checked, but your program ignored that. It showed the disbursement as TAXABLE. I knew something was wrong, so I went in and did the form manually. The tax was then calculated correctly. If I hadn't known what was SHOULD have happened, I would have paid an extra $12,000 in taxes that I did not owe!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Good value and easy to use

I have been using this product since the late 1990's (Taxcut) and it always was easy to use and has become better over time. I don't have a complex tax situation but it is able to cover most any that may come up. Purchase the version that meets your needs.
Pros: Easy to prepare
