I have used this product for 3 years. It's good for the federal but the state is always a mess and I have never been able to purchase the electronic filing option for the state. It irritates me.
I find H&R Block one of the easiest tax software programs to use. I like the ability to import data from last years return which makes it easier to plug in information from this years tax forms.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
My taxes are not terribly complicated (I am retired and not wealthy) but the IRS being just borderline competent so its helpful to have someone else to try and figure them out. You could miss something, (like a sneaky exception or credit). I am not impressed with the flow of the work - find my self frequently searching around to understand where to find something. I especially don't like surprise charges for anything - this year was a bit better than some. I will say I prefer HRB to Turdo Tax for cost. Maybe it might help to have a group of folks who usually do their taxes via one of these tax software programs do some trial runs giving feedback but maybe you have done that. I do like being able to bring last years results into auto fill some things..
I have used H&R Block tax software for many years. It's very easy to complete my taxes and my daughters' taxes by going through the interview, and everything is covered very well. The only time I ever consulted an accountant was the year I sold a rental property, and the accountant verified that I had already done everything correctly using the software.
