I’ve been using H&R Block Deluxe tax software for at least 8 years and I’ve very happy that it has worked well for me. I use to do my 3 children’s taxes too but now I do only the one still at home. I like the import feature and the help and final review features. I like doing my own taxes as keeps me informed on what changes the government makes.
I like being able to complete my state taxes too.
I filled electronically for the first time and it went very smoothly. My son got his refund back fast and I think mine is back but I have to check.

Block is fairly easy to use but isn’t particularly intuitive. I had used Tax Act for several years but stopped using it when that company disclaimed responsibility for a mistake I know that I did not make. Block seems to be accurate; I have never found a mistake nor been penalized by the Feds or the State for any errors.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

My federal return has been rejected twice because of HR Block's faulty e-filing process. I'm hoping the third time is a charm but wouldn't bet on it at this point.

HRB Deluxe installs easily, updates efficiently, does both Federal & PA State taxes accurately, & files Federal taxes electronically for Free. I’ve been using it for over 10 years now. My only disappointment this year was the inability to file my PA State tax electronically because I had “Early Withdrawal Penalties” on some CD redemptions in 2022. I’m not sure if this was a PA State filing requirement, or a limitation of HRB.
