I have been using Tax Cut/H&R Block Tax SW since the 1990's. They went from hard plastic disc, to CD and now easy download. Important if you need to load previous years. Easy to use and import from various providers.
Great product. It handled the 199A real estate dividends without any problems. It keeps track of form 8606 for IRA withdrawals. It does non dividend distributions. I wish that it would do publication 721 non taxable withdrawals from a Federal Civil Service Annuity. Maybe next year.
One of the forms I needed to file, which was supported for the previous two years, was not supported in the 2022 version. There was no solution in the program. It is supported in the online version, but only if I paid extra for a Tax Pro review.
The Tax Cut program by H&R Block was very easy to use and I have used the program for years. I recommend it for everyone who wants an easy way to do their Taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I have used HR Block to file my taxes starting with 2004 Tax Cut. I have used it the past 18 years. I have filed my taxes with it as an employee with W-2's and retirement IRA's and Roth and brokerage cash accounts. I use it also as a guide to roughly estimate and plan my future years taxes. I have also used Deluxe and State to plan and estimate IRA distributions, dividends, capital gains, and social security payouts to determine when the best time for me to start social security payments.
