I like how last year’s information can be quickly import into the current tax year. My tax preparation only takes me about 30 minutes to complete. So far no return issues, so I am happy.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Works OK, but there is still room for improvement. Some, not needed forms may be removed automatically if the conditions to trigger them no longer exist. The printing of the final Fed and state forms is tricky. I don't want to see those ugly "Not For Filling" labels on each each PDF form. I also don't like the PDF forms to break at some unexpected points. I want to be able to print the PDF forms separately so each form is on its own page. Currently, there is a break at some random place and parts of different forms are printed on one page. That's plain stupid!
I have been using your software for many years and am very happy with it. However, this year you had an error that caused the IRS to reject my return and I had to pay twice to efile my Illinois return. I think I should be reimbursed for the extra charge.
It was very frustrating to have returns rejected due to an update needed for H & R software. If there was a needed update, I don’t think H & R software should let you efile until update was done. Update fixed whatever problem there was, but very frustrating to have to resubmit returns.
Bought software download. First download was flawed in some way and would not load. Had to contact Block to get another download that did work. It would have been much easier if they just gave you a disk. I really do not like this method
Last years H&R was very simple to navigate. This year's version was apparently totally different and not intuitive. I had to reenter quite a bit of information twice because it was in the wrong location. For next year, I kind of now stuck with this product.
H&R Block Deluxe + State is one of the few programs that recognized that I need to file a part-year resident and non-resident Maryland income tax returns. Unfortunately, the Arizona state software has an error in the part-year resident form that has not been fixed with one month before the filing deadline.
