Tax Software That Makes Fun Out of a Complex Task

I have used H&R Block software for several years, to handle my federal and my state tax returns. I find their system easy to follow, accurate, and helpful to many aspects of my financial planning. I count on their products, advice and help. There is no other way I could finish a tax return, send it off to the IRS and discover 2 days later that my return was accepted by the IRS. Thank you H&R Block.

I have been using H&R Block Tax Software since 1998. It has been one of the easiest methods of compiling and completing my tax returns I have ever found. Minimal hassle. Easy to respond to questions to guide you as to what your entries should be. Clear and concise FAQ and Help information to assist you to resolve any questions you have. Deluxe 2022 Software continued this easy approach to an annual task and made filing quick and easy. I would recommend it to anyone with a fairly standard tax filing requirement.

Good product but pay attention to details

Overall I am quite happy and have been using this for many years. But sometimes details require some manual effort. I wanted to redo my capital gains so I deleted the previously downloaded information and fetched it again from my broker. That worked, but it also re-downloaded 1099-DIV and it took me a while to figure out that my dividend information was duplicated. Once I removed the duplicate, things were fine.
Upon e-filing with the IRS, the final check failed because there was a stray Form 2225 (Foreign Earned Income) being included. I had foreign income in 2021 but not 2022, but the software didn't delete the form from the information brought forward. I deleted it manually.

Have used H & R BLOCK software for about 9 years now and have found it to be really easy to use. After the first year you carry information forward and it makes it that much easier to use. I'm a retiree with little tax knowledge, but with the questions being asked as you go through the program, I feel comfortable sending my taxes to the feds and state. I'm very pleased with the whole process. Also, haven't been audited yet!
