I have used H&R Block software for the past several years and found the software to overall meet my tax needs.This years versions tends to be more streamlined and comprrhensive.
There is one issue which needs improving, During the transfer process of last tax data year the item description being transferred should be listed in the appropriate section, An example, if last years return contained interest for ABC bank along with id number. This information should transfer to the newer version. In this way the user would just have to input the new interest number only without entering name of bank and id number again,

Used HR Block over 20 years. Makes tax day so easy. Really like the thoroughness of evaluating the line items, and ability to print out forms. Price is good compared to competition but recommend the price include electronic state filing.

Really terrible job with real estate transaction

Apparently doesn't even understand the rules for a 1099-S land sale, because it insisted (incorrectly) that is is a disallowed deduction (it isn't). I had to file an amended return and I just love being on the IRS radar for extra scrutiny. Turbo Tax here I come.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
