My first tax software was for tax year 1999 and the main Name was TaxCut with "Block Financial Corporation" in small print. By 2011 "H & R Block" was the only name showing and after 2021 I stopped getting the Discs but continue to get their software. I tried a different brand one year , but ended up filling with with Block.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

I have been using H&R Block software for years and would not even consider changing tp amptjer product. It's cost effective and easy to use. I am legally blind and am long since past the point where I could prepare my own return on paper, which I did for years before acquiring the software. As it is, I prepare returns for my husband and myself, my children and my two eldest grandchildren. It's so easy to use that wnen I was finishing up the last of our returns this year and my eyes were getting tired from strain, as my husband said, I let my daughter "drive" for a while to complete the return. My only problems relate to accessibility issues, which I suspect, would not be an issue at all for individuals with normal sight. (Examples include: the NEXT and BACK buttons are not always in the same place - sometimes they're just below the text and sometimes they're at the bottom of the page (not a problem if everything's on the screen, but when you're 5x or 6x magnification, it's not all on the screen and you may have to hunt); pop-up windows have reverse coloring from the main setup - I use HIGH CONTRAST as a normal setup and find that I have a better chance of reading light text on a dark background, so when the pop-ups appear as dark text on a light background, I have to reverse the setting to read the pop-up and then reverse it back when I'm finished with the pop-up.

When looking at forms, the scroll wheel works, cursor motion keys have never worked, I wish they would.
