I have been using your product for a least 10 years just a wonderful easy to use and has all the needed form for filing.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Trouble with VAR-S and VAR-L filing

I am a long time user of this software and have always been satisfied. This year, however, I had several stock trade transactions, and the program would not allow me to E file due to the missing sale date (which I could not add - not even VAR-S or VAR-L). I also had trouble with filing VAR-L with a 0 proceeds price on a worthless stock or reporting 0 federal tax withholding. I finally had to resort to individually reporting each transaction in order to finish and file. There was also supposed to be a list of documents to send as attachment to the State filing - no list was available. I finally figured out the document needed in order to proceed was a copy of my Fed return as PDF. The program was supposed to tell me what documents to attach.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

E-File was Rejected - twice

The problem was identified as with the software, no my data. First told to resubmit after a date that had passed, I did do a manual update as the software for Mac auto update fails and resubmitted my return. The second submission was also rejected. The report identifies another correction of the software is required and won't be available for a week.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Getting through to the point of submission was very manageable. But there was a delay in being able to submit for a few days due to an update. After the update, I e-filed but was rejected. The message said to wait until a date that already passed and that no changes were required. I resubmitted but was rejected again, same message as before.
After the third submission the new message is there is a software problem and to wait up to a week to submit again.
I used the software for the speed of e-filing using the “free” e-file benefit, which turned out to be of no value to me as filing on paper will be faster.
I was also disappointed that the state software did not include form N-342. While Schedule CR is included, omission of N-343 from the software package prevents me from having the option to e-file.

Not great for MAC

I'm disappointed with the MAC version of this software. For many years, I've used H&R Block for Windows and loved it! This year I purchased an iMAC and purchased the MAC version and it's horrible. Unable to do updates automatically and does not let me close the interview "This interview isn't final. Visit the Update Center for release dates." I update and still it will not close it. I have to force quit to shut down the program.

Straightforward to do

We have used this for several years. It is straightforward to use, answers questions, nicely brings over the data from the previous year, and otherwise makes life easy. It does updates smoothly even in a place with slower internet.
