Easy to use.

Have been using H&R Deluxe for years. Like the way it brings forward the previous year's information - especially the 2023 energy credit brought forward. Price is great. Submission had to wait until after Feb 23 when a required updated was needed.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's just OK. Needs to step up their game.

For a "Deluxe" version I would have expected more. I couldn't submit when I wanted to because of software updates that were needed in order to accept my 1099 info and process it correctly. The software should be looking at past returns (I've used the software for more than a decade) and look for anomalies. The data checks are annoying because there's no reason these checks would invalidate a return, but the default action is to but the user in an infinite look of continuing to look at the data checks. Bad design!
Pros: Easy to import documents

Great product - horrible support

I have been using Block since its inception. This year when I ran an update, all my tax files disappeared. I asked for help and received “You’re just going to have to input everything again.” It had taken me two days to prepare my complicated return. I had a software issue a few years back, and had to buy the software again, because they couldn’t/wouldn’t fix it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

CONTINUED PROBLEMS WITH PRINTING FORMATTING

HRB Continues to struggle with simple printing features and scaling defects, making it almost impossible to get a decent printout of your returns for review of the worksheets and forms and an "as submitted" 1040 package. This has been going on for years with no improvement still. Further the vague language often used in the interview with incomplete or unclear antecedent references are needlessly exasperating. E-filing features are adequate however.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good, but....

Good but more changes are needed to make it more user friendly. I've used Turbo Tax for over 15 years but their cost increases convinced me to try something different. I could not import my 1099-R (did not offer that option), the AGI that was pre-populated for the e-filing was wrong (only populated the first two digits), and there was not an easy way to opt for the standard deduction. Pleased with the ease of download and accuracy of calculations. Fix the other things I mentioned and I'd give it four stars.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

HR Block tax software

All I can say it that it’s much easier and faster to use than TurboTax. HR Block will be my go to tax software in the future, Bye, bye TurboTax.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Great software, easy to use and understand

The price of this tax software is very reasonable when compared to others that are available. This is my 3rd year in a row using H&R Block. I should have started using it earlier.
