First time using, and I found it fairly easy

I have filed with Turbo tax before, and decided to try H&R Block Deluxe this year.
Found it easy enough to use, I wanted to be able to enter forms such as 1099-div
manually and the program let me do that.
I like the final review that checked everything was entered correctly.

WHERE ARE THE TAX SUMMARY REPORTS??

1. This program should provide a tax summary that compares details to (at least) the previous two tax years! 2. This program should provide a summary that list the Capital Loss Carryover into the NEXT tax year - 2024 in this case. TaxAct always provided these but got too expensive so I switched to BLOCK. These Summary Reports should be easy to provide and would be a great benefit!
Pros: Easy to import documents

Frustrating

I was ready to file, but I had to wait through one update after another. Then finally the final update came. I don't know how many times I had to click on update while nothing happened. Then after it actually updated, I tried to file but got rejected by the IRS for incorrect pin. Your program said to choose any 5-digit number. But it didn't match the 6-digit IRS pin. Instructions for fixing it were unclear. FRUSTRATING! I won't buy Block again!
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use

Excellent software. The only criticism I have is that when upgrading, it reboots the PC without any warning. There should be a screen that askes if you want to re-boot.

Printing needs some minor improvements

Having used H& R Block (previously Tax Cut Software) for over 2 decades, I’m used to finding my way around the program. What I’d like to see is the option of only printing specific return pages, ie custom printing. Why print all 9 pages of a form when I’ve made an update affecting just one page? It’s a waste of paper, ink, and time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Somewhat easy to use

I've been using H&R B tax software for many years. It is somewhat easy to use. I had no problems with it. It could be improved. They present you with some einfows that do not apply to your situation and cause confusion. For example, im not 73 yet, and the program should detect this, but it presents you with a window that asks if you under withdrew from retirement accounts after you are 73. On the capital gain_losses, if there is a loss, on the review page it dends you back to recheck the entry because your cost was grater than the proceeds. And of course it was. That us why theres a loss, but it only causes confusion. There is also a page at the end of the process where they offer you the state version, but you have stated you live in a no income tax state. If you buy stocks throug a DRIP program and the fees are not included by the plan administrator on the cost basis, you pretty much have to disrefard those fees because there is no explicit wat to add them to the stock cost basis. Those are some examples of how the program hasnt been refined. On the good side, it comes up with allowences and deductions that if you didnt use the prigram you woul very likely would overlook.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Still no approved on software

Been using software for 6 years or so, but this year, the program is still saying accepted only, even though I have received my refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
